Marilyn

Marilyn has a Bachelor’s in English and a Master’s in ELA (English Language Arts) as well as a Texas teaching certificate. She is a retired teacher with experience teaching almost all K-12 grades. She began in the 1970s by teaching English to refugees. After completing her degree, she taught 9th grade students of all levels, including students who were behind grade level to advanced AP students at Key Jr. High. After that, she taught for nearly 20 years at Jane Long Middle School. Marilyn also taught English and History at Westbury High School and Waltrip High School including AP classes. She also spent many summers teaching summer school of all ages.

Marilyn retired from teaching in 2008 and has been tutoring English as a Second Language students as well as K-12 students of all ages in most subjects including English, ELA, Writing, Reading, Literature, and History. She can tutor all subjects for younger students.

Marilyn is reliable, knowledgeable, and passionate about teaching. She works very hard to help her students succeed and spends a lot of time getting to know her students and how to help them learn effectively and enjoyably!
